Various activities have been held since Wednesday in celebration of the
National Tourism Year Connecting World Heritage Sites in Viet Nam hosted
by the central province of Thanh Hoa.
Amateur troupes from seven provinces are performing Vietnamese
traditional art forms, recognised as world cultural non-intangible
heritage by UNESCO, in Thanh Hoa Province.
The fifth southern traditional cake festival will be
celebrated in the Mekong city of Can Tho from April 15 to 19 next year
to also mark Mekong Delta Tourism Week and National Tourism Year.
More than 50 kinds of cultural and entertainment
activities will be held during the National Tourism Year 2016, hosted by
the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Kien Giang.
Authorities have announced a master plan on
developing Moc Chau into a national tourism site by 2020 during a
ceremony in the northern province of Son La.
People''s hospitality and attitude towards visitors, as well as their
courtesy and cleanliness, are vital for the development of Viet Nam''s
tourism industry, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said yesterday.
The northern province of Thanh Hoa will host the National Tourism Year
2015 in mid-March next year, with a focus on connecting Viet Nam''s world
heritage sites.
A festival showcasing traditional costumes and
presenting traditional cultural features will be organised in Da Lat
City from October 31 to November 2.
With the National Tourism Year this year focusing on
the Central Highlands – Da Lat, many travel firms, tourism sites,
hotels, and restaurants in Da Lat have launched promotions with
discounts of up to 40 per cent.
